Our social workers make a real difference. Every day they work with families to help children and young people who have a significant disability or impairment and face challenges in achieving their ambitions.
* Listening to children and young people with disabilities and prioritizing their needs.
* Working in partnership with families, providing them with skills to ensure children live in safe, happy, and healthy homes.
* Collaborating within a multi-agency network to ensure assessments and planning lead to positive outcomes for children.
What will you be doing?
* Using your creativity and initiative to deliver high-quality, child-centered practices that achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
* Providing information, advice, and support to children, young people, families, and carers to promote social inclusion for children with disabilities.
* Safeguarding vulnerable children and young people, assessing needs, developing plans, and reviewing these plans regularly to ensure goals are met.
* Undertaking statutory social work in areas such as Child protection, Children in Need, and initial stages of Looked after Children, working within legal frameworks and care proceedings as needed.
What we need from you
* Experience with court work, including assessing capacity and authorizing deprivation of liberty.
* Qualified social worker with Social Work England registration and a good understanding of asset and strengths-based approaches.
* Problem-solving skills, confidence in decision-making, and a genuine passion for working collaboratively with children, young people, and families.
* An advocate for innovation, positivity, and dedication, welcoming challenges and embracing change.
* Knowledge of relevant services, legislation, regulations, and best practices.
