NIE Networks owns and operates the electricity network serving homes and businesses across Northern Ireland. As we continue to modernise systems and infrastructure, we are expanding our focus on cyber and data security to ensure our operations remain resilient and compliant with evolving regulation. The Opportunity Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the CISO will lead NIE Networks Cyber Security and Data Protection strategy and services. As a member of the CIO Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure our cyber security frameworks and controls align with business needs, regulations and emerging threats, while supporting informed risk-based decision making with senior leaders. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of NIE Networks cyber security strategy, policies and governance framework. Oversee security delivery across IT, OT and SCADA, ensuring effective project and programme outcomes. Act as NIS Responsible Officer, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead cyber and data breach incident response, including emergency response activities. Provide cyber risk reporting and advice to the Executive and Board. Oversee third-party cyber services and security assurance. Promote security by design across business projects and technology change. Work closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) on governance alignment. About You Essential Minimum of 10 years senior leadership experience in cyber and data security, with strategic and operational accountability. Proven experience leading large-scale cyber security programmes and influencing executive decision-making. Ability to translate threat intelligence into practical business controls. Strong stakeholder engagement skills across complex organisations. Demonstrable cyber risk management experience. Ability to lead incident response and complex problem solving.
