The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of Cardiac and Vascular diagnostic and interventional services to patients with Cardiovascular Disease, including:
* Cardiac and Vascular Angiography
* Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) with Pressure Wire assessment
* Intravascular Ultrasound and Rotablation
* Insertion of Temporary and Permanent Pacemakers
* Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) and Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) devices
* Pericardiocentesis
* Vascular and non-Vascular interventions such as Peripheral Angioplasty, Line Placements, Urology and Gastrointestinal procedures, Biopsies, Drainages, and more
These services are also utilized by neighboring Trusts. The role of the interventional nurse is to provide high-quality care to a wide range of patients requiring these services.
The role includes scrubbing and circulating during procedures and rotating into the day case/recovery area to expand knowledge of post-procedure and post-sedation patient care.

Main duties of the job
* Participate in assessing the health needs of patients and their families/caregivers
* Contribute to developing care plans with patients and their families/caregivers
* Receive training and achieve radiology nursing competencies following the designated framework
* Prepare Cath & Intervention labs and recovery/day case areas for patient admission, ensuring all equipment is ready and functional
* Act as scrub and circulating nurse during interventional procedures under x-ray guidance
* Maintain sterility and ensure safe disposal of equipment according to Trust guidelines
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in recovery/day case settings
* Monitor patients continuously during procedures and recognize changes requiring intervention
* Administer medicines, including intravenous sedation, in accordance with NMC Standards and Trust policy

Job responsibilities
* Registered Nurse with UK NMC registration
* Valid UK Driving Licence
* BLS provider
* Post-registered experience of at least 2 years
* Knowledge of relevant specialty, statutory, and mandatory training
* Ability to plan, assess, implement, and evaluate patient care
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships
* Basic computer literacy in hospital systems
* Willingness to participate in an on-call rota
