LGC ASSURE Sports & Specialised Analytical Services is an internationally recognised world‑class testing laboratory specialising in banned substance and anti‑doping testing across animal sports, human drug testing and supplement testing.
Role
We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive Scientist to join our Animal Sports team. In a collaborative, project‑based environment you will contribute to the development, validation and application of analytical methods to support anti‑doping and medication control in animal sports.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the design, development, validation, and execution of analytical methods using chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques (primarily LC‑MS and GC‑MS)
* Interpreting scientific data and delivering clear, high‑quality reports and presentations
* Managing your work effectively to deliver projects on time and in line with client requirements, regulatory standards, and quality systems
* Carrying out a range of analyses and investigations to support method development and continuous improvement
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas, solve problems, and contribute to team objectives
* Contributing to improvements in efficiency, quality, and overall laboratory performance
Qualifications
* BSc (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject
* Sound scientific knowledge with practical experience of chromatography and mass spectrometry, particularly LC‑MS techniques (GC‑MS an additional bonus)
* Operationally aware and able to contribute to improvements in output and efficiency
* Excellent team player, flexible and proactive in bringing forward ideas
* Knowledge of doping control practices in relation to animal sports
* Experience of method development
* Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 17025 desirable
* Knowledge of immunoassay techniques desirable
