A leading well-established Asset Manager is looking to hire an Equity Analyst in the Global Equities team.
The successful candidate will sit in the Asia team, with a Japan focus. This is a newly created position due to increased exposure of Japan in Global and Asia Pacific portfolios. Although this role will focus initially on analysis, it will have the potential to develop into a portfolio management position in the long term.
Responsibilities:
1. Undertake equity analysis on companies listed in Japan as part of the Asia Pacific and Global Equity portfolios.
2. Produce research notes and investment recommendations, and monitor existing holdings in portfolios.
3. Analyze stock ideas in the wider Asia universe of companies when required.
4. Develop a deep knowledge of relevant companies in Japan and the macro backdrop.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Relevant experience in a buy or sell-side equity research position analyzing Japanese equities.
2. Business Japanese (spoken and written).
3. Degree educated.
4. CFA qualification would be ideal.
5. High attention to detail, with a willingness to learn through valid questioning and analysis.
6. Collaborator and contributor in a team environment.
