Functional Skills Tutor – Trafford (M16) Help learners build confidence through essential English & Maths £25–£30 per hour | Flexible weekday hours | Local sessions in homes or libraries Are you passionate about helping others gain the practical skills they need to succeed in everyday life? We’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic Functional Skills Tutors to support learners in the Trafford (M16) area who are currently outside of mainstream education. Many of these young people face challenges such as anxiety, SEN, or disrupted schooling and need a supportive one-to-one approach to help them re-engage with learning. Tuition is delivered face-to-face, either in the learner’s home or in safe, accessible spaces like local libraries or community venues. What the role involves: Teaching Functional Skills in Maths and English (up to Level 2) Supporting young people aged 14–19 on a one-to-one basis Building learner confidence and creating personalised learning plans Focusing on real-world applications to make learning engaging and relevant Delivering sessions during school-time hours (Mon–Fri) with flexibility around your schedule Who this role would suit: You might be a qualified teacher, an experienced Functional Skills tutor, or someone with a strong background in alternative provision or adult learning. If you're keen to support learners in a flexible, one-to-one setting — and want to see the impact of your work up close — this role could be a perfect fit.
