Job Description
An established engineering organisation within the aerospace and turbomachinery sector is seeking a Principal Stress Engineer to join its Structures team. The successful candidate will lead structural analysis activities from concept through to production, supporting both new and existing turbomachinery designs. This role offers significant technical responsibility, customer exposure, and the opportunity to influence analysis methods, tools, and best practice across the business.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of structural and stress analysis activities
* Ensure turbomachinery designs meet stress, vibration, and lifing requirements
* Communicate effectively with project teams, engineering managers, and customers
* Produce structural summaries, design analysis reports, and supporting documentation
* Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior stress engineers
Skill Required
* Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or a related engineering discipline
* Proven industry experience in stress analysis of turbomachinery or combustion hardwareStrong knowledge of structural mechanics, strength of materials, and analysis methods
* Experience with FEA tools such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, or NASTRAN
