Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality social work practice to improve outcomes for children and families.
* Ensure that work reflects Team Wigan behaviours and practice standards, embedding the Family Saf safeguarding model.
* Identify strengths, vulnerabilities, and attitudes towards change to help keep children, young people, and families healthy, happy, and safe.
* Deliver child-focused assessments that clearly articulate the child’s voice and ensure these are reviewed regularly.
* Manage a complex caseload, performing direct work with children and their families to address individual needs and reduce harm.
* Collaborate effectively with partners such as Early Help and Prevention, education services, police, and the NHS.
* Maintain up-to-date, detailed, and accurate records using Liquid Logic and other tools, ensuring they remain purposeful and jargon-free.
* Attend court proceedings as necessary.
* Contribute to the development of services for children and their families.
* Embrace opportunities for learning, growth, and career development in social work.
* Uphold social care standards as outlined by Social Work England and maintain your registration in accordance with statutory regulations.
* Operate within the guidelines of GDPR, ensuring data is reviewed and disposed of according to retention schedules.
Requirements
* A degree or equivalent in social work.
* Current registration with Social Work England.
* Significant frontline experience in UK Social Services as a qualified Social Worker is essential.
