Overview

Our client, a leading further education provider, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Animal Management Lecturer to join its dedicated teaching team. This role will involve delivering engaging lessons across Levels 1–3, with opportunities to contribute to Level 4–6 programmes including the Foundation Degree in Animal Management.

The college offers excellent teaching facilities, including an on-site animal management centre housing a diverse range of species, providing students with hands-on, industry-relevant training. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or industry professional looking to inspire the next generation of animal care and management specialists.


Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons, workshops, and assessments across Levels 1–3, with potential involvement at higher levels.
* Teach a range of subjects including animal behaviour, ecology, zoology, conservation, and business.
* Deliver both classroom-based and practical teaching, including sessions within the Animal Care Unit.
* Provide timely verbal and written feedback to students, supporting achievement and progression.
* Act as a personal tutor to learners, monitoring attendance, tracking progress, and promoting wellbeing.
* Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities, ensuring strong vocational links.
* Maintain high academic standards in line with awarding body and higher education (Open University) requirements.


Requirements

* Degree-level qualification in Animal Science, Zoology, Ecology, Conservation, or related field.
* Experience teaching and/or delivering at Levels 3–6 in a further or higher education setting (HE).
* Ability to motivate and inspire both young people and adult learners.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Industry experience within animal management or related fields desirable.
* 48 days annual leave + bank holidays.
