We have an exciting opportunity for a Criminal Justice Liaison Worker to join our service in Leeds, working from a city‑centre base and community locations alongside police, probation, drug and alcohol services, housing, social care and employment services.
• Location: Leeds
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Salary: £27,861.26 – £32,002.35 (dependent on experience, pro‑rata for part‑time)
About the role
The role supports service users identified through the criminal justice system to reduce substance misuse‑related harm. You will conduct personalised assessments for referrals, deliver evidence‑based interventions, provide practical support and safeguarding, and maintain accurate records. Flexibility, curiosity, listening skills and a proactive attitude are essential.
Responsibilities
 * Provide comprehensive assessments and coordinate resettlement and support plans by liaising with probation, prison support services and treatment services.
 * Identify and engage people within the Criminal Justice system who have a history of substance misuse and are not in treatment, encouraging them to seek support.
 * Carry out risk assessments and manage risk effectively.
 * Liaise with all partner teams to ensure continuity of care for all service users.
 * Be creative and innovative to meet the unique needs of each service user.
About you
 * Experience supporting and advising participants with complex and/or multiple barriers to success.
 * Knowledge of the Criminal Justice system.
 * Experience working within Criminal Justice Partnerships (desirable).
 * Excellent understanding of issues affecting those involved in the criminal justice system, such as drug and alcohol problems.
 * A commitment to multi‑agency working and establishing partnerships with other professionals to achieve good outcomes for service users.
 * Ability to manage change successfully, prioritising the needs of service users.
