Salary: £100 - £110 per day

We’re partnering with a specialist independent school in Somerset to recruit a Learning Support Worker to join a committed and compassionate team. This fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and resilient individual to provide one-to-one and small group support across a unique, multi-site learning environment.
About The Role:
As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering individualised learning programmes for students with a range of social, emotional, cognitive and communication needs. Working under the guidance of the Learning Centre Manager and teaching staff, you will:
* Build positive, nurturing relationships with students
* Deliver tailored literacy, numeracy and life skills support
* Assist with classroom preparation, teaching resources and student records
* Promote students’ social and emotional development through consistent, supportive interaction
* Provide 1:1 support in both school and occasionally in community-based or off-site learning settings
* Encourage safe, respectful behaviour and contribute to a calm, inclusive environment
* Collaborate with parents, therapists and external agencies to support holistic progress
* Record key information using internal systems such as SchoolPod and CPOMS
* Participate in exam invigilation and learning reviews
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, empathetic and motivated by a genuine commitment to supporting children with complex learning profiles. The ideal applicant will:
Essential:
* Have experience working with children or young people, especially those with SEN or behavioural needs
* Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
* Have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
* Be patient, resilient and able to work both independently and collaboratively
* Show a clear understanding of safeguarding and how to keep children safe
* Be IT-literate and able to maintain accurate records
Desirable:
* Hold a teaching assistant qualification or be willing to train
* Have knowledge of National Curriculum subjects and Microsoft Office applications
* Own a car and be comfortable working across multiple sites if required (mileage reimbursed)
* Be confident working in environments where animals are present
