About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of how it is ethically sourced. You will recommend recipes to customers and actively embody our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers.
You will use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, positively impacting their impression of the Waitrose brand and fostering loyalty. Additionally, you'll help maximize sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest standards of presentation and hygiene.
2. Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
3. Work carefully with open food, following all health & safety protocols and helping to reduce food wastage.
4. Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
5. Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Effective communication skills to work well with team members and customers.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality.
* Interest and knowledge of food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the entire branch.
