A Senior Housekeeper/Manager is required for a large Property on a Private Estate near Hungerford for a High Profile family.
We are seeking an exceptional, experienced, and discreet Senior Housekeeper to join a highly respected private household. This is a rare opportunity to work in a beautifully maintained 10-bedroom estate for a Principal who values meticulous attention to detail, professionalism, and a calm, polished presence. The Housekeeper will take full responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation, with additional duties including wardrobe management, occasional preparation of family meals, light personal assistant tasks, and formal household responsibilities such as greeting guests and serving refreshments.
Key Responsibilities
• Impeccable upkeep of all interiors to the highest standard
• Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management, including care for delicate fabrics
• Household organisation, stock management, and occasional errands
• Preparing family meals when required (simple batch cooking - fish pie, lasagne etc)
• Flower arrangements
• Liaising with other household staff, estate team and contractors
• Assisting with basic care for the family’s dog (must like dogs)
• Occasional support for events and guests
The Ideal Candidate
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar HNW households
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Discreet, trustworthy, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Flexible, proactive, and service-oriented attitude
• Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of a large home.
• Ability to cook family meals and assist with entertaining when required (with assistance from the Principal)
• Confident with high-end cleaning products and specialist techniques
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be able to commute daily if the candidate opts to live out.
1. Accommodation is available for a single person with no pets on the property (1 bedroom cottage). Ideally the candidate will have their own car for their days off.
Schedule & Benefits
• Full-time, 45-50 hours per week (typical schedule Mon-Fr, 8:30am – 6:30pm, with flexibility required to work on weekends and later shifts if needed)
• Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (negotiable DOE) - on a temp basis it would be £20 per hour

The ideal candidate is available from as soon as possible, has proven experience working in a similar role in a HNW household and would be happy to hit the ground running without having their hand held. The candidate would work alone in the property, so must be happy to work independently and use their initiative. There are other staff members including a nanny for the 3 young children (the candidate should be child friendly), and cleaning staff who would come in on the Housekeepers days off.
