Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30
Type: Full-time, Permanent (Hybrid after probation - 3 office / 2 home)
We're recruiting a Customs Clearance Operator to join one of our clients based out of Burntwood. This is a great opportunity for someone with customs knowledge looking to develop their career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Process import and export customs clearances across air, sea and road freight
* Complete and submit declarations accurately and within required timeframes
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth shipment processing
* Check and manage all required customs documentation, resolving any issues
* Calculate duties and taxes and ensure timely clearance of shipments
* Provide regular updates and excellent service to customers
* Manage shared inbox enquiries efficiently as part of the team
Requirements
* Previous experience in customs clearance (imports/exports) for a UK based freight forwarder
* Good understanding of UK/EU customs procedures and documentation
* Familiarity with systems such as CDS, NCTS or Destin8 is advantageous
* Knowledge of Incoterms and the freight industry
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
