Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK and are looking for an experienced mechanical biased maintenance fabricator, fitter & welder to join their day shift crew.
Role & Responsibilities:
4. Working alongside the maintenance engineering team to respond to breakdowns on production & packaging machinery when needed
5. Role will involve a lot of project work – spending time in the workshop making up pipework, guards, spot repairs and machining
6. Welding – MiG, TiG, Stick, MMA, Gas – stainless steel, sheet metal, pipefitting, brazing
7. Be able to support the more junior engineers with training on welding skills
8. Dealing with pneumatics, motors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, drives, hydraulics, compressors
9. Mechanical fabrication, fitting, manual machining – use of lathes, milling, turning, grinding
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
10. Must be an experience mechanical fabricator / fitter
11. Strong welder – MiG, TiG, Gas, MMA, Stick
12. Worked with stainless steel & sheet metal
13. Must be a pipefitting guru
14. Role is going to suit an experienced mechanically biased engineer/fitter that wants to come off working shift work
15. Need to be a flexible character, doing workshop tasks but then help the maintenance team with breakdowns when needed
16. Excellent problem solving and fault diagnostics skills
17. Worked in a high-speed production environment previously
18. Need to be a confident person that can support the junior engineers with training
19. Continuous improvement mentality
