Pharmacy Senior Assistant Technical Officer - Clinical Services

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join us as a Pharmacy Senior Assistant Technical Officer - Clinical Services.


Main duties of the job

To assist and support in the provision of a safe and efficient Ward-based Pharmacy Service in accordance with Trust and local guidelines, policies and procedures.

The management of medicines at Ward level, including Ward stock, Inpatient named supplies, waste and recycling.

Labelling, dispensing and supplying medicines at Ward level.

Proactively managing the pharmacy discharge process liaising with the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) and pharmacy teams.

Supporting the MDT with Bar Code Medicines Administration (BCMA) workflows at Ward level.

As per Home Office guidelines, please be aware that, unfortunately, the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular position.

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have: - applied for a Graduate visa - or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment - or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to GCSE grade 4-9 or equivalent including Mathematics, English and Science
* Willing to undertake and complete (within 6 months of commencing) mandatory NVQ II units required for the pos
* Willing to undertake and complete (within 3 months of commencing) relevant modules in the CUH Accreditation for Medicines Management
* NVQ II Pharmaceutical Service
* IT certificates or qualification


Experience

* Pharmacy experience
* Planning and organising straight forward tasks
* Experience of working with computers
* Working within agreed guidelines to set timescales
* Experience of customer service, hospitals or dealing with the public
* Experience of patient consultation
* Experience with stock management
* Experience of dispensing


Knowledge

* Understanding information Governance and Confidentiality
* Knowledge of EPIC


Skills

* Ability to work as part of team
* Good communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to prioritise work systematically and manage time effectively
* Good interpersonal skills, diplomacy. Tact and awareness of others
* Good organisational skills
* Willing to take on/learn new skills
* Ability to show attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to work effectively in a busy environment where interruptions may occur
* Ability work alone but excellent team working skills
