We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Essex for an experienced Housing Officer to join their Housing Management team on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong tenancy management experience to work within a busy and supportive local authority environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer:
Managing a patch of residential properties across the borough
Delivering effective general tenancy management services
Handling tenancy breaches including ASB, nuisance, and low-level enforcement
Conducting tenancy audits, property visits, and estate inspections
Supporting tenants to sustain tenancies and access relevant services
Managing rent arrears cases and liaising with internal departments
Responding to resident enquiries and resolving housing-related issues
Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with housing policiesRequirements of a Housing Officer:
Previous experience working as a Housing Officer within a Local Authority or Social Housing setting
Strong knowledge of tenancy management and housing legislation
Experience managing ASB and tenancy-related casework
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essentialWhat’s on Offer:
