Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established, award-winning SME building consultancy to appoint a Building Surveyor for their growing Oxford office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered or experienced Building Surveyor who has completed their APC (or is operating at an equivalent level) and is looking to take the next step in their career within a hands-on, supportive and progressive environment.
You’ll be joining a busy, collaborative team, working closely with Directors and Associates, with genuine scope for career progression and client exposure from day one.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a mix of project and professional services, including:
* Running smaller capital projects from inception to completion (£50k – £750k), reporting directly to clients and developing strong client relationships
* Supporting Directors and Associates on larger projects (£750k+)
* Liaising with internal and external project teams
* Preparing and submitting statutory applications
* Producing specifications and working closely with the architectural team, supported by a strong understanding of construction types
* Undertaking building inspections, dilapidations reports and negotiations
* Preparing and serving notices and awards under the Party Wallet C.A. Act 1996
* Managing existing client relationships and identifying new instructions where possible
* Demonstrating a solid understanding of JCT contracts, particularly Design & Build, and experience in CA and EA roles
About You
* MRICS qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent experience in a similar role
* Personable, professional and client-focused
* Ambitious, energetic and motivated, with the ability to work under pressure
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Working knowledge of MS Office essential
* Basic knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit and MS Project would be advantageous
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm
* Hybrid working (non-contractual): currently three days in the office and up to two days working from home
