Job Description:
Your new company
An excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest multi-disciplinary consultancies with offices based in the North West and across the UK, working on private and public sector projects supporting health, education, and other clients. With over 800 staff across the UK, the North West team is a small, close-knit team with ambitions to grow, offering opportunities for career progression.
Your new role
You will work alongside engineers, surveyors, and senior professionals. Your workload will include public and private sector projects. You will lead and develop detailed briefs with clients and senior colleagues, establishing and maintaining client relationships. Responsibilities include site surveys, report preparation (including compliance, condition, defect analysis, lifecycle, and cost data), liaising with clients, contractors, and consultants, and developing design and specification work to win new business through tenders. You will also assist senior team members with project finances, recruitment, and mentoring, aiming to progress toward an associate level.
Key tasks include:
* Conduct site surveys (including compliance, condition, & defect analysis).
* Prepare reports (including remedial works, lifecycle, & cost data).
* Review and comment on ‘As Built’ data.
* Carry out design and specification work, preparing tender documentation.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
* Assist with project finances, recruitment, and mentoring.
* Work towards progression to an Associate level.
What you'll need to succeed
You should have a degree in Building Services, HND/HNC, or equivalent, with at least 10 years of post-degree experience in the public or private sector, particularly in the health sector. You must be able to develop good working relationships with professionals and clients through excellent communication skills. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines using design tools such as AutoCAD, Amtec, or similar is essential.
You should be ACBSIE or MIET registered, with a strong understanding of current regulations, health sector standards, and CIBSE guides, and their implications for building design and maintenance. Flexibility to travel and stay away from home occasionally is required, and a full UK driving license is necessary.
What you'll get in return
Joining a highly ambitious company with opportunities for internal promotion to an Associate role in the near future. The salary package ranges from £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, plus a generous car allowance. The company offers a fully flexible hybrid working policy, 23 days of holiday (rising to 27 after 5 years), bank holidays, a matched pension scheme, life assurance, cycle-to-work scheme, and various voluntary benefits tailored to your lifestyle.
