Cleaning Operative – Banking Environment (Temporary to Permanent)
Location: Silver Street, Bedford, MK40 1SY
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: TBC
We are recruiting a Cleaning Operative to work within a secure banking / financial services environment in Bedford. This role is temporary to permanent, subject to performance and ongoing site requirements.
Working hours:
* Monday: 17:00 – 18:30 (1.5 hrs)
* Tuesday: 17:00 – 18:30 (1.5 hrs)
* Wednesday: 17:00 – 18:30 (1.5 hrs)
* Thursday: 17:00 – 18:30 (1.5 hrs)
* Friday: 17:00 – 18:30 (1.5 hrs)
* Saturday: 15:00 – 16:30 (1.5 hrs)
* Sunday: No work
Duties include:
* General cleaning of offices, meeting rooms, toilets, and communal areas
* Emptying bins and replenishing consumables
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
* Adhering to strict health, safety, and site security procedures
Mandatory requirements (banking environment):
* Right to work in the UK (must be presented and verified at induction)
* DBS check required
* Adverse financial check required
* Proof of employment history via the GOV.UK employment history service

* Comfortable working alone
* Able to act as a key holder and operate alarm systems
* Willing to use a telephone time & attendance clocking system (mandatory)
* Trustworthy, reliable, and security-aware
Each worker will be issued a unique PIN for access and clocking.
PINs are non-transferable and monitored.
