A little more about the role.
* Play a leading role in growing a specialist materials team to support the facades, landscaping, architectural, historic buildings and sustainability teams.
* Be the natural stone specialist providing advice to our multi-disciplinary teams working on projects across the UK and overseas and strive for technical excellence.
* Have proven experience of stone specific clauses in performance-based specifications to British, European and American standards; stone selection and quarry assessment in the UK and globally; specifying and interpreting stone testing results; managing and undertaking condition surveys and failure investigation; and advising on the sustainability of stone.
* Represent WSP at any industry events, forums and specialist committees.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.
* Degree level qualification in Geological Sciences (BSc or MSci), or similar.
* Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g. The Geological Society) and ideally chartered.
* A thorough grounding in H&S procedures for site work.
* Experience of liaising with internal and external clients, contractors and stakeholders.
* Be able to demonstrate excellent communication and report writing skills.
