Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role located in Linlithgow for a First Team Sport Scientist. The Sport Scientist will collaborate closely with the coaching staff to develop and implement fitness training plans to optimize player performance. Responsibilities include designing and delivering individualized fitness programs, conducting physical assessments, collecting performance data, creating injury prevention strategies, and supporting rehabilitation plans. The role involves consistent on-site presence during training sessions and matches, with a focus on ensuring the physical well-being and performance of the first team squad.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge in sports science, physiology, and biomechanics
* Skills in fitness training, conditioning, and performance optimization
* Experience in data collection, analysis, and performance tracking
* Understanding of injury prevention, rehabilitation practices, and recovery techniques
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a team
* Proven ability to develop player-specific training plans
* Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Kinesiology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* Previous experience working in a football or sports team setting is preferred but not mandatory
