Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences in our Indian takeaway. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, alongside proven leadership skills. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that high standards of food safety and quality are maintained while fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Duties
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
* Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and food production.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices to ensure a safe working environment.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
* Train new kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and operational procedures.
* Monitor stock levels and place orders for supplies as needed to maintain optimal inventory.
* Develop seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to guest preferences.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
* Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
* Extensive knowledge of food production techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
* Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and front-of-house staff.
