LWC Drinks Ltd provides licensed establishments with all their bar and sundry supplies. However, we are more than just a distributor, becoming the fastest growing privately owned drinks company in Britain, placing 24th in the Sunday Times PWC Profit Track 100. Our aim is to provide the best customer service in the industry, employing over 1,700 people, at 18 depots across the UK, with a Support Centre and Hub Distribution Centre based in Manchester.
Main Duties
Be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met. The supervisor is required to monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods, whilst being responsible for the line management of the staff within the distribution team including warehouse staff and transportation staff.
Key Skills
* Ensuring that the warehouse as a whole runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
* Processing all answer phone, internet and online orders.
* Updating Route Sheets "as & when" required.
* Security checks on open/shut down of operation.
* To analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
* Co-ordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems.
* Ensuring that products are dealt with efficiently in the warehouse and are successfully delivered to customers.
* To control and implement a date-checking system and out-of-date stock controls.
* To ensure that the Warehouse and its housekeeping are maintained to a high standard.
* To ensure that stock is stored within health and safety guidelines.
* To ensure that the Warehouse Bin/Bay locations are kept up to date.
* To ensure all processes are followed and adhered to with regards to loading/unloading, including checking of all loads, shrink wrapping and load security.
* Ensuring adequate staff levels to cover for absences and peaks in workload.
* Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output.
* Conduct or support with disciplinary/capability/grievance procedures as required.
* Effectively cover the role of Warehouse & Distribution Manager in their absence.
Knowledge and Experience
* Good teamwork skills.
* Good management & communication skills, and experience of managing a team in a busy warehouse.
* Good product knowledge and warehousing policies and procedures.
* Full use of ‘Trinity’ system and CyberQuery software.
* Previous experience of using Blueyonder is desirable.
* Good IT skills, including use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records.
* Desirable: FLT licence, Pivot Steer License, valid First Aid at Work qualification, valid IOSH qualification.
