Job overview
This vacancy is for a band 7 Psychiatric Liaison Nurse (Night).
Main duties of the job
1. To provide a comprehensive CAMHS mental health liaison service and assessment within acute hospital departments across two acute hospital trusts.
Offering a service 7 days a week from 9pm to 9am. Developing plans of care and making difficult decisions in cases where patients are exhibiting complex psychosocial needs and/or challenging behaviours.
2. To be responsible for offering and implementing a of high standards of clinical
care ensuring the service provided is needs-led, compliant with national guidance and is
viewed positively by service users.
3. To be responsible for undertaking comprehensive clinical assessments of service users,
including risk assessment, risk management planning, formulation and ongoing care
planning, signposting or onward referral
4. To be responsible for organising and prioritising own workload in the day-today allocation of work.
5. To liaise with external agencies to support discharge from A & E department.
Working for our organisation
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 per annum pro rata).

1. At least two years experience at Band 6
2. Experience of working in CAMHS
3. Experience of working in Psychiatric Liaison, Home Treatment or Crisis Services
4. Be prepared to work nights
5. Current RMN or AHP registration

6. Ability to perform under pressure, quickly and effectively, making timely managerial decisions in conjunction with the Team lead and following through available agreed care pathways.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of the team
8. Evidence of post-registration clinical development.
9. To have experience in working / liaising with multi-disciplinary teams and other agencies in the provision of care.
