Due to continued growth in our award-winning Pension Risk Transfer business, we are seeking a number of Qualified Pensions Actuaries to join our PRT Client Services function as a Calculations Manager.
As a Calculations Manager, your main responsibility will be to provide subject matter expertise and support to the team in relation to manual calculations, complex benefit structures, and other technical aspects crucial for the smooth administration and ongoing management of our Defined Benefit Pension schemes.
This role would be ideal for someone with demonstrable technical DB pensions experience who is also a strong communicator and enjoys working as part of a high-functioning team delivering excellent outcomes for our customers daily.
This is a hybrid working opportunity, allowing you to split your week between home and our Hove offices to promote work/life balance.
What you'll be doing:
* Checking individual Defined Benefits quotations and non-standard communications to ensure efficient administration and claims service
* Leading projects/initiatives and process improvement work using your technical expertise
* Facilitating activities such as valuations, data updates, and bulk transfers
* Managing the onboarding process of new DB Pension schemes as an SME & technical expert
* Supporting the growth of our PRT business by creating efficient, compliant processes ensuring reliable outcomes
* Producing and analyzing MI to monitor customer outcomes quality
* Supporting the Team Manager with training and development of the Calculations Team
Qualifications:
* A Qualified Pensions Actuary with experience/knowledge of DB Pension Schemes
* Understanding of DB pension benefits structure, administration, and legislation
* Excellent customer orientation and relationship management skills
* Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
* Understanding of risks faced by the calculations team and mitigation strategies
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to deliver accurate, cost-effective solutions and support team development
