JOB - Facilities Technician (Electrician)
SHIFTS - Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm but can be flexible
SALARY - £45,000
LOCATION - Market Drayton
PENSION - 5% & 3%
I am recruiting for a Facilities Technician (Electrician) to join an engineering team in Market Drayton.
As a Facility Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment across the site. You will carry out scheduled and reactive electrical work, including fault finding, ad hoc PAT testing, and emergency lighting maintenance. Additionally, you'll support the electrical aspects of plant operations, assist with breakdowns, and contribute to energy-saving initiatives.
THE ROLE:
* Monitor plant systems for electrical faults and take quick action to fix issues, keeping production running smoothly
* Manage electrical permits for contractors and review RAMS for safety and suitability
* Oversee contractor work to ensure it meets site health & safety and electrical safety standards
* Respond quickly to electrical breakdowns and prioritise restoring equipment
* Diagnose and repair faults accurately, logging all work in the CMMS (HolisTech)
* Carry out small electrical installations, upgrades, and changes following BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
* Test and document all new electrical installations to ensure compliance
* Support annual PAT testing by checking new or missed items and logging results
* Perform emergency lighting tests and complete repairs as needed, ensuring safety compliance
* Keep clear records and fix faults promptly
IDEAL CANDIDATE
* Fully qualified Electrician with industrial experience
* Minimum Level 3 Electrical qualification (City & Guilds 2330/2365 or equivalent)
* Experience in electrical maintenance within food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment
* Strong skills in fault finding and breakdown repairs
* Knowledge of inverters, motor controls, and control panels
* Experience with PAT testing and emergency lighting
* Experience using a CMMS system is a plus
