BAM Nuttall is seeking an experienced and motivated Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team on the large civil engineering project, the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2).
The EGL2 project is a joint venture with Hitachi Energy (HEBAM) and is a 5-year initiative to construct a 525kV, 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission cable from Peterhead in Scotland to Drax in England. This will be the longest HVDC cable in the UK and the country's largest transmission project, powering 2 million UK homes.

Your mission
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities include:
* Reporting to the Commercial Manager.
* Liaising with the operations team and support services.
* Managing a commercial team across multiple schemes.
* Overseeing commercial project management, including:
o Monthly cost value reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, forecasts.
o Processing monthly payments.
o Change management.
* Mentoring members of the commercial team.
* Contributing to project performance discussions and strategy.
* Collaborating with clients and stakeholders for optimal commercial solutions.
* Ensuring compliance with project and company commercial procedures, including procurement and subcontract management.
* Providing commercial input during the Pre-Construction/Tender phase.
* Managing ECI projects from a commercial perspective, including reviewing contract documents.
Who are we looking for?
Necessary
* Experience managing a team, preferably across multiple projects.
* Experience with civil engineering schemes.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Understanding of contractual provisions, with ability to review and draft documents.
* Relevant degree or HNC/D qualification.
Advantageous
* Experience with Early Contractor Involvement.
* Experience with target cost contracts.
* Client-facing collaborative skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Relevant professional qualifications (CICES/RICS).
