Psychology Graduate SEN Support Practitioner – Peterlee Location: Peterlee Pay: £90–£110 per day Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term Start Date: As soon as possible We are recruiting a Psychology Graduate SEN Support Practitioner to work within a specialist education setting supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs. This role offers hands-on experience working with pupils who require emotional regulation support, behavioural guidance and consistent adult relationships to succeed in education. You will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams and pastoral leads to support pupils throughout the school day, both academically and emotionally. Key responsibilities: • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis • Helping pupils manage emotions, anxiety and behaviour • Supporting engagement with learning activities • Monitoring pupils’ emotional responses and triggers • Supporting transitions, routines and structured interventions • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional resilience This role is ideal for someone who: • Holds a Psychology degree or related qualification • Is considering a career in psychology, therapy or education • Is calm, observant and emotionally resilient • Understands that behaviour often reflects unmet needs This is a highly valuable role for graduates seeking practical experience in a specialist environment.
