Stoneyhill Primary School was built in 1996 and is a non-denominational primary school situated at the west end of Musselburgh. The school caters for children from ages 3 to 12. There are 9 classes from P1-P7 in the school with 194 pupils currently enrolled. There is also a 48 week nursery catering for 3 and 4 year olds with two groups of 24 children attending half the week each.
Set within a pleasing landscaped area, the main school is a semi-open plan design. Eight class bays open onto a central multi-purpose group activity area. There are four closed classrooms, with two used for whole school music and Article 31 Playroom. In addition there is a Library/Meeting room, offices, medical room and sports hall. The school is accessible to those with physical disabilities. The school also has a kitchen, which enables the pupils to have a packed lunch or a cafeteria hot meal of the day.
There are attractive grounds around the school with a garden which the Parent Council are helping to develop.
Closed circuit television and an effective intruder alarm system protect the school.
Job Details
To undertake class-teaching duties
Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
Develop the school curriculum.
Assess, record and report on the work of pupils.
Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL).
Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.
