This role is part of the Application Services team, delivering a wide range of essential software applications to support students, academic and professional services staff in learning, research, and operations.
About The Role
We’re seeking a hands-on, proactive and technically accomplished Senior Developer / Software Architect to lead and mentor our development team while shaping the architectural direction of our digital estate. You will lead the team through hands-on development and mentorship, drive architectural decisions, and ensure seamless implementation of solutions, especially as we transition towards cloud-native, event-driven technologies. This position supports hybrid working—with a minimum of 3/4 days on-site and 1/2 days remote.
About You
You must be a collaborative leader with extensive experience in software design, development, and architecture and be able to lead and mentor a team of developers. You should be comfortable working in an agile environment (ideally using Jira for work management and Confluence for documentation) and have experience with DevOps practices, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and cloud-native development. You must have good communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Familiarity with React and SQL Server DBA responsibilities would be an advantage.
