The Fife Area-Wide Psychology Service comprises a range of clinical specialties, and has extensive involvement in training, research and service development. We have close links with the universities of Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews. We have numerous trainees from the D.Clin.Psych and MSc courses and your professional development and research initiatives will be well supported.
You will join a team of three highly experienced Clinical Psychologists / Neuropsychologists working in the neurorehabilitation service based in the Sir George Sharp Unit Cameron Hospital. This is a multidisciplinary inpatient, outpatient and community service comprising medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and dietetics all based at a single site. The post holder will contribute to the general work of the specialty and have a varied caseload drawn from a wide range of neurological conditions. We use and have expertise in a range of approaches (including CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Group Analysis) and deliver individual and group therapy.
You will provide specialist clinical neuropsychological assessment, treatment and consultancy. You will also contribute to the evaluation of the service and to the development of evidence based practice as required. You should have experience in neuropsychology, brain injury and MDT working.
You will also take an active part in the Area Psychology Service, seeking opportunities for research, your own professional development and contributing to that of others. The post will be based at Cameron Hospital, Windygates Fife.
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
