Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Bristol, is currently looking to recruit an Architect Surveyor for a Permanent, Part-Time position with a salary of £38,067 (Pro Rata).
Responsibilities:
1. Work within regional Partnerships teams responsible for delivering discretionary services in collaboration with local partners.
2. Advocate for the care, conservation, and creative reuse of heritage assets to enhance quality of life.
3. Participate in projects that may span over months or years, utilizing a diverse set of skills including advocacy, research, grant-giving, project management, and conservation.
4. Use expert technical skills to advise partners on the repair and alteration of heritage assets and guide development proposals for historic townscapes and landscapes.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Professional qualification in architecture or building surveying, with current ARB registration or chartered RICS membership, and accreditation in building conservation (AABC, RIBA (SCA level), or RICS), or working towards these.
2. Extensive experience in building repair and project management.
3. Good knowledge of English secular and ecclesiastical architecture across periods.
4. Strong understanding of building construction, repair, alteration, and adaptation methods.
5. Practical and creative approach to solving repair problems.
6. Awareness of current construction industry regulations.
