Location: Leeds city centre – Shelter shop
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

This role is being advertised as a Shop Manager but on appointment your job title will be Community Shop Manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead the new flagship Shelter shop opening in spring 2026 in the heart of Leeds City centre.
* Be a confident, influential leader who is community-driven and takes the lead in this role as a shop manager.
* Take creative control of visual merchandising within the shop and bring bold ideas to life.
* Lead a team, empowering and motivating individuals and driving sales in a retail environment.
* Engage with the local community to seek out opportunities to increase the shop’s contribution to Shelter’s cause.
* Develop yourself and your team’s knowledge of Shelter and what we do, including merchandising the shop and attracting customers.
About you
You will need to be an active team player and be able to demonstrate how you’ve managed and motivated a team previously beyond expectations and experience of providing excellent customer service in a face-to-face role.
Have a good knowledge of recruiting and developing a diverse team and how you have supported and motivated teams to progress and how you would bring these skills into this position. You will also have experience of driving sales in a retail environment.
You will need good communication skills to engage with the local community to seek out new opportunities to increase the shop’s contribution to help further Shelter’s cause. You will develop your own and your teams’ interests in merchandising the shop attracting customers and continually develop yours and your team’s knowledge of Shelter, who we are and what we do.
