Maintenance Operative. Manor Park Care Home
Hours: Full Time and Part Time available
Salary: £13.39 per hour
Start Date: Early September (exact date TBC)
Shift Pattern: To be confirmed. Full flexibility required, including availability for both weekday and weekend shifts.
Opening in mid-September in the heart of Malton, Manor Park Care Home is a brand-new, purpose-built facility offering high-quality residential, nursing, and dementia care. We are now looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our opening team and help ensure the home is always safe, functional, and beautifully presented.
Key Responsibilities.
As Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the home, ensuring all facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained to the highest standards. You’ll play a vital role in creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Carry out general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, joinery, painting, and minor repairs.
Conduct regular checks and inspections of the building, equipment, and safety systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and servicing.
Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
Support with fire safety checks, emergency lighting, and water temperature monitoring.
Assist with setting up rooms and moving furniture or equipment as needed.

What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or hospitality setting.
Good working knowledge of general building maintenance and health & safety practices.
A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
Friendly and respectful attitude, with a commitment to supporting a safe and pleasant environment for residents.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends if required.
