Residential Support Worker (Children's Home)

Salary: £23000 - £26000
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Hours: Full-time
Holiday: 28 days per annum


About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people aged 8–18 within a residential care setting.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where young people can thrive, develop independence, and reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide a safe, stable, and caring home environment
* Support young people with daily routines, including school, meals, and activities
* Promote emotional well-being, independence, and life skills
* Act as a positive role model and build trusting relationships
* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
* Support recreational, social, and educational activities (including evenings and weekends)
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with regulatory requirements
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
* Support health needs, including attending appointments and administering care (with training)


Additional Duties

* Participate in training, supervision, and performance reviews
* Support educational development, including basic numeracy and literacy
* Assist with household tasks such as cooking and maintaining a clean environment
* Ensure health & safety standards are met at all times
* Provide support across services where required
