Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School Placement, Stoke-on-Trent
Start Date: September 2025
Are you a recent graduate with at least a 2:1 degree in any subject?
Are you passionate about supporting young learners and considering a future in teaching?
An inclusive and friendly primary school in Stoke-on-Trent is looking to welcome enthusiastic graduates as Graduate Teaching Assistants from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to gain invaluable classroom experience ahead of teacher training in 2026.
While degrees in areas such as Psychology, Education, or Health and Social Care are particularly relevant, we encourage graduates from all academic backgrounds to apply.

Your Responsibilities:
Support teaching staff with lesson delivery, group activities, and one-on-one interventions
Help students improve their reading, writing, numeracy, and social development
Contribute to lesson planning and maintain a well-organised classroom environment
Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning
Work closely with experienced educators and learn first-hand how schools function daily
Develop essential teaching and classroom management skills
Graduates with a minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline
Strong interest from candidates with backgrounds in Psychology, Education, or Social Care
A genuine enthusiasm for working with primary-aged children
Excellent communication, a professional mindset, and a proactive attitude
Adaptability, patience, and a team-focused approach
Prior experience working with children is a bonus, but not required
