Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for?an?enthusiastic?7.5 Tonne Driver/Warehouse Operative?to join our?team in Farnborough.?We are looking for someone with 7.5 tonne driving and warehousing experience, who is hard-working, conscientious and passionate about contributing towards the smooth and professional delivery of products to customers at their building sites. This is a very physical role involving heavy lifting.
Driver / Warehouse Operative Responsibilities Include:
Conduct full vehicle inspections
Fueling Vehicles
Safe and efficient handling of vehicle in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of vehicle
Responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times
Ensure that all delivery procedures are followed in line with Company and Customer procedures
Ensure all Company documentation and equipment is returned to the transport office/depot daily
Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met within Company and legal frameworks
Report vehicle defects and ensure that the defect is documented
Comply with Drivers regulations & Working Time Directive in line with the current legislation and Company procedures
Ensure the Digital Driver Card is carried at all times, that the card is downloaded according to current legislation/regulations
Attend a driver debrief at the end of each shift and provide information relating to shift
Able to portray a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Packing, picking and labelling of stock for final delivery
Loading and unloading of goods from vehicles
Checking and receipt of goods delivered
Recording and distribution of products to the correct location for put-away
Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures
To comply with company procedures with the use of mechanical handling equipment
Corresponding with internal departments when necessary
Assisting with stock taking
Keeping warehouse/yard area clean and tidy
In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business, where appropriate training provided.
Qualities Needed:
Must hold a valid, Class C1 driving licence
Must have at least 1 year of 7.5 tonne driving experience
Hold a valid Digital Tachograph card with recent activity
Be CPC qualified
Have multi-drop driving experience
Counterbalance and/or Reach truck certificate preferable
Physically fit to perform manual tasks as required
Organised and good attention to detail
Self-motivated
Confident and able to use own initiative when needed
Excellent time keeping skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
