JOB DESCRIPTION – CAKE DECORATOR BASED IN NW10
We have a rare vacancy for an experienced Cake Decorator Working 40 hours a week 9am - 5pm. You'll be working alongside Matilde our brilliant Production Manager in our fun, super-friendly small team
We make the best cakes in London, so naturally, we want the best cake decorators in London on our team We have some exciting plans coming up, and we're looking for an experienced Decorator to join us. Our production bakery is based at Park Royal in NW10.
Our production is fast-paced, so you'll need experience working in a high-volume, high-quality professional bakery environment and not be phased by multitasking.
What will I be doing:
*Decorating the Flavourtown whole cake range (look at our website) with buttercream, Swiss meringue buttercream, cream cheese frosting and ganache.
*Using various decorating techniques such as drips, intricate striping, stacking, and working with fondant to make simple decorations.
*Writing in icing onto cakes, plaques, and cupcakes
*Decorating cupcakes to a high standard and mastering the Flavourtown swirl.
*Using basic chocolate techniques such as tempering to make decorations such as mini chocolate bars.
*Being part of all aspects of our high-quality daily production ensuring you're super organised.
*Helping design new cakes and ideas
Skills you'll need:
*At least two years of cake decorating experience working in a high-quality, fast-paced professional bakery environment.
*Being able to work quickly to the highest levels of finish and quality whilst remaining cool and calm under pressure.
*A real team player happy to jump in with colleagues and get on with everyone.
*Be able to take direction constructively and be eager to learn and develop your skills.
*Ensure all food safety standards are met and keep work areas clean.
*Expert cake decorating skills to a high professional production bakery standard.
*Knowledge of current cake decorating trends and techniques.
*Level 2 food safety.
*Must be able to hand pipe: writing with icing on cakes and cupcakes.
