Home Safety Officer Location: Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn | Rate: £15.31 PAYE | Start: 08 Dec 2025 Hours: 18.5 per week | Contract: Temporary Are you passionate about improving home safety and protecting residents? This role offers the opportunity to visit homes, assess safety risks, provide equipment and advice, and support public health initiatives across the community. What You'll Do Conduct home visits to identify safety hazards and advise residents on risk reduction. Install and demonstrate approved safety equipment, including smoke alarms, CO detectors, stairgates, and fireguards. Make referrals to relevant agencies such as fire services, social services, and health providers. Maintain accurate records of visits and update IT systems. Support home safety campaigns, education sessions, and promotional activities. Assist in training students and supervising temporary staff. Work with older people, families, and communities with language or sensory barriers. Work in rural, isolated, and socially deprived areas, ensuring residents at highest risk are prioritised. Who We're Looking For Experience in home safety, health promotion, or a related role. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with residents from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records.
