Role Summary
Position: Drainage Engineer
Location: Crawley Depot (West Sussex)
Job Type: Permanent, full‑time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours per week
Salary: £27,300 per annum
Responsibilities
* Travel to residential sites via HGV in a two‑person team, using a high‑pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Deliver good customer service.
* Maintain good H&S practice while carrying out works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site set‑ups, protecting employees, the public and other road users).
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and any updates.
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions using correct PPE and lone worker system.
* Dynamically risk‑assess site access and working conditions based on specific circumstances upon arrival.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use.
* Report any defects or malfunctions in relation to training.
* Carry out risk assessments and demonstrate a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibility towards them.
* Perform any other reasonable ad‑hoc duties requested by management.
Qualifications
Experience with high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA, Confined Spaces) are an advantage.

Full training is provided, including PPE and company equipment. A passion for working outdoors and delivering high‑quality customer service is essential.
