Sheridan Maine is seeking an experienced and reliable Payroll Manager to take ownership of end-to-end payroll function at awell-established business in Hertfordshire. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of payroll legislation who enjoys leading a process-driven and accurate payroll service.
You will be responsible for managing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, and delivering timely and accurate pay to employees.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage and process end-to-end payroll for weekly and monthly pay cycles.
2. Ensure accurate calculation of pay, pensions, statutory deductions, and benefits.
3. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all HMRC requirements.
4. Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
5. Oversee year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds.
6. Keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation and systems.
7. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related matters.
What we’re looking for:
8. Proven experience in a standalone or managerial payroll role.
9. Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practices.
10. Experience with payroll software such as Sage Payroll, ADP, or similar.
11. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
12. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
13. Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
