Groundworker

Job Summary:

Layn Developments Ltd is currently looking for a Groundworker. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and experienced in groundwork or general construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Site preparation including clearing, leveling, and compacting ground

Digging trenches for foundations, drainage, and utilities

Installing drainage systems, pipes, manholes, and ducting

Mixing and pouring concrete

Laying kerbs, slabs, and paving

Basic bricklaying and concreting tasks

Assisting with road construction or tarmacking

Operating small plant machinery and tools (e.g., rollers, compactors)

Reading and following site plans and specifications

Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed at all times

Working closely with other trades and site workers

Requirements:

Proven experience as a groundworker or in a similar construction role

Competent in using construction tools and equipment

Ability to read and understand construction drawings and instructions

Good knowledge of site health and safety practices

CPCS or NPORS qualifications (desirable for plant operation)

Full UK driving licence
