This role has a starting salary of £30,647 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

We are hiring full time two Social Care Assistants to join our fantastic Reigate & Banstead Locality team. The team is based in Reigate and is a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and wellbeing. The team works on a hybrid basis, attending the office 2-3 days a week.

Our team was one of the selected to test the Connect to Community approach – a strengths-based model that embraces new ways of working aimed at preventing, reducing, and delaying care needs. Through this approach, the team has helped to shape and influence practice across the wider service. In addition, the team was also chosen to pilot Magic Notes, an innovative AI tool designed to significantly reduce administrative burden. This tool enables practitioners to be more person-centred in their work by streamlining notetaking and documentation.

About the Team

The Reigate and Banstead Locality Team supports adults (18+) with eligible care needs across East Surrey, in both community and hospital settings. We provide timely advice, guidance, and access to local resources, while promoting independence, wellbeing, and safeguarding those at risk.

Our diverse, multidisciplinary team is committed to inclusive practice and continuous professional development. We foster a strengths-based approach focused on resilience and long-term outcomes, supported by a culture of reflection, innovation, and curiosity.

We regularly hold best practice sessions to share knowledge, explore complex cases, and improve care approaches. These sessions strengthen team cohesion and support career growth, with staff encouraged to contribute ideas and access training.

About the Role

We are looking for a range of compassionate and empathetic individuals with a variety of skills and experiences to work with the people we support, enabling them to enjoy a home of their own and an environment in which they are supported to live a healthy and meaningful lifestyle.

Working in partnership with individuals, their carers, professional staff in other agencies and service providers, your role will be to assist qualified practitioners with a variety of tasks, including assessing people's needs and carrying out regular reviews. You will often be the first point of contact between the public and the service, gathering initial information and identifying the need for further assessment, as well as signposting people to other services. You will hold a caseload of individuals and carers who will generally have a support plan in place that requires routine monitoring.

Shortlisting Criteria

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our :

10. The ability to empathise with, and show compassion towards, individuals in need of social care assistance.
11. Strong knowledge of the needs and challenges faced by adults requiring social care, and a commitment to supporting their well-being.
12. Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
13. Proficiency in basic IT skills such as Microsoft Office, email and file management alongside a demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new software systems.
14. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and respectfully, both verbally and in writing.

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
