Overview

Be among the first applicants for an opportunity as a Mental Health Practitioner to join the Knowsley CYPMHS Team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves working with children and young people with varying mental health issues, providing treatment and therapy to them and their families/carers using the think family approach. The service uses the THRIVE model of care and collaborates closely with partners across the borough; strong communication and organisation are essential. A preceptorship programme is available for newly qualified clinicians during the first 12 months.


Responsibilities

* Hold a caseload of CYP to coordinate their care and treatment
* Assess new cases to ascertain suitability
* Act as part of an MDT to deliver evidence-based treatments and therapies
* Liaise with outside agencies to co-ordinate care
* Act as an advocate for children and young people in your care, ensuring the voice of the child is heard
* Attend meetings and events to develop experience and skills, and share relevant information
* Attend and assist with training
* Ensure safeguarding is considered at every opportunity and follow policies and procedures related to safeguarding concerns
* Follow Mersey Care policies and procedures at all times to ensure safe delivery of care


Qualifications / Experience

* Experience is preferred, but Mersey Care offers a preceptorship programme to develop experience and skills within the first 12 months for newly qualified clinicians
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Ability to work within the THRIVE model of care and the think family approach
