About The Role
Are you passionate about product safety and quality? Looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience or qualifications in quality management? QA Manager will be based at our Wednesbury site.
The role is predominantly factory based, working in a refrigerated, noisy environment. As QA Manager you’ll work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern 05:30 – 18:00.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure QA team is managed effectively, including performance assessments and continuous development.
* Recruit, induct and train Quality Auditors.
* Collaborate daily with production, engineering, HR, hygiene and other functions.
* Develop, implement and monitor procedures in the Quality Management System, HACCP and Food Defence.
* Ensure technical team complete tasks and non‑conformances are identified and actioned.
* Ensure validation and verification are completed by the team.
* Liaise with production to deliver products that meet customer specifications.
* Investigate customer complaints of a technical nature and communicate findings and action plans internally and externally.
* Support the Technical NPD coordinator and production in introducing new or changed products, processes and packaging.
* Manage external service providers (e.g. pest control and laboratory).
* Work closely with HR to ensure disciplinary, grievance and absence procedures are followed.
* Serve as a member of the HACCP and Food Defence team.
* Support implementation of a robust food safety culture and quality initiatives.
* Conduct internal QMS audits.
* Lead 3rd‑party audits and customer visits.
Qualifications
* Relevant scientific or food‑related qualifications (degree desirable).
* Practical working knowledge of BRC and retailer requirements.
* Experience working with major retailers including leading audits.
* HACCP and Food safety qualifications.
* Internal auditing training.
* Basic understanding of microbiology and potential food safety and quality consequences.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
