Paton Bros Scaffolding Limited is a Scaffolding Company based at Lillyhall Industrial Estate in Workington, that specializes in providing Scaffolding services for various projects.
We are seeking full time employees to work on various construction sites throughout Cumbria.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the loading and unloading of company vehicles with any resources required for the project.
* Erect, alter or dismantle scaffolding as required to specifications as instructed by the Charge Hand Scaffolder.
* Use tools and materials safely in conjunction with the job specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement, and in accordance with recognized scaffolding standards and current practices.
* Assist to ensure the safety of site operatives and members of the public where applicable by putting safety barriers in place and paying particular attention to others.
* Maintain the serviceability of personal tools, PPE and other equipment as necessary.
* Maintain knowledge, skill levels and Continual Professional Development to carry out duties effectively.
Role:
* To provide a link between the scaffolding operatives and clients.
* To take charge of scaffolding operations on site.
* Considered to be a more mature and experienced scaffolder, the Charge Hand or is capable of interpreting design drawings and erecting complex non-standard scaffolds with limited input from Supervisors or Management.
* They should be capable of carrying out inspections on all types of scaffold and are expected to complete and issue appropriate Hand-overs and Scafftags for their sites.
* In addition to erecting and dismantling scaffolds, they should be capable of setting an example to the less experienced colleagues whilst managing men and materials to ensure that a job is completed in a timely manner using all available resources.
* Critically, they should be able to liaise with Site Managers and clients and report any issues that can impact on timely completion of works.
* Ensure adequate resources and materials are on site to progress the project
* Liaise with the site management team to ensure the smooth progress of the project, attending site meetings and reporting site progress to scaffolding supervisors and clients where required.
* Supervise scaffolding operatives to ensure that work is carried out to client expectations in line with safety protocols, time limits and budget expectations.
* Report all incidents to the health & safety advisor/director.
Requirements:
* Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment commonly used in scaffold construction
* Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to scaffold construction
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
* Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that require heavy lifting, climbing, and working at heights
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
All overtime paid at time and a half.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £18.50-£21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 41.5 – 48 per week
