Esland is dedicated to changing children’s lives for the better by providing best-in-class specialist services. The position is based at our SEN School in Grantham, Lincolnshire, supporting vulnerable young people aged 8-18 with SEMH.
Key Responsibilities for a SEN Teacher
* Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons demonstrating outstanding teaching
* Contribute to a culture of continual improvement and high standards through coaching, team-teaching, and demonstrating excellence
* Provide effective pastoral care, including behaviour management, child protection, and safeguarding
* Maintain high standards of teaching across various curriculum subjects
* Identify strategies to overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning
* Carry out duties as per Teacher Standards and contribute to EHCP reviews and ILPs

Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status
* Degree qualification or equivalent
* Experience as a KS2/KS3/KS4 teacher
* Ability to teach across multiple subjects, including English, Maths, and Science
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
* Understanding of innovative pedagogy and assessment without levels
* Knowledge of statutory assessment at KS4 and behaviour management strategies
* Inclusion knowledge, including SEMH, EAL, and minority groups
* Safeguarding expertise, especially for vulnerable pupils
* Ability to form effective relationships with students, families, and external agencies

* Self-belief, initiative, and effective communication
* Approachable, caring, and resilient under pressure
* Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
Desirable Qualifications
* Degree or qualification in psychology
* Higher degree or equivalent
