Outsourcing Manager

About the Role
An established and growing UK accountancy and business advisory group is seeking an experienced Accounts Outsourcing Manager to join its London practice. This is a senior, client‑facing role with responsibility for managing a portfolio of outsourced accounting and finance clients while leading and developing a high‑performing team.
The role suits a commercially minded, qualified accounting professional who enjoys working closely with clients, driving service quality, and operating in a fast‑paced, forward‑thinking practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients, ensuring consistently high service delivery
* Review teams accounts preparations to ensure quality, compliance, and technical regulatory standards are met
* Act as a trusted adviser to clients, providing commercially focused insights and solutions
* Ensure all client deadlines, deliverables, and communications are met accurately and on time
* Drive efficiency and profitability through best‑practice processes and use of technology
* Build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, senior stakeholders, and internal teams
* Contribute to strategic planning and revenue growth initiatives
* Take responsibility for client relationships with revenues up to approximately £180k
* Ensure all work complies with statutory, legal, and ethical requirements
* Lead, motivate, and performance‑manage team members, setting clear objectives and standards
* Develop technical capability and knowledge across the team
* Act as a role model for professional standards, behaviours, and values
Client & Technical Focus
* Preparation and review of statutory accounts using FRS102 and Companies House filings
* Monthly management accounts and some CFO support
* Oversight of VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax compliance
* Support for technology‑enabled and growth‑focused businesses
* Strong use of cloud accounting platforms, particularly Xero
Candidate Requirements
* ACA or ACCA fully qualified
* Proven experience managing a client portfolio within a practice environment
* Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail
* Experience leading and developing junior team members
* Confident communicator, comfortable operating in fast‑paced and entrepreneurial settings
* Commercially aware, proactive, and client‑focused
* Experience supporting tech‑enabled, start‑up, or venture‑backed businesses is advantageous
