You will be a core and valuedmember of the Childrens Nutrition Team who support over 20 children on homeparenteral nutrition. You will workclosely with consultants, medical teams, Nutrition nurses, pharmacist,social workers and psychologist. You will provide a proactive and coordinatednutrition and dietetic service to both in and out patients and support thetransition to home through liaison with health professionals in thecommunity.

Main duties of the job
Provideadvanced, highly specialised dietetic care to children and their families andcarers at a local and regional level.
Thiswill include advice to in-patients, out-patients and all healthcare staff.Provide and lead aspects of clinical training for dietetic students, supportthe Clinical Dietetic Manager (Childrens services) in co-ordinatingactivities of the team and providing support and supervision to staff. Leadand co-ordinate research and audit within specialist clinical area anddisseminate findings.

Weare currently 28 full and part time Childrens Dietitians, providing a widerange of secondary and tertiary care, and supra-regional services based atthe Leeds Childrens Hospital. We are part of the wider Nutrition andDietetic Service in Leeds Teaching Hospitals. You will be expected to providecover for colleagues within the multi-specialty Childrens dietetic team attimes of annual leave or sickness. We will support you with appropriatetraining opportunities to facilitate this.You will be fully involved instudent training, contributing to the provision of training programmes for A,B and C placement learners. Our team has excellent support from four dieteticassistants and the admin team. You will have access to IT and libraryfacilities.

Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent
* Experience of working as a Dietitian at a senior level including paediatric experience
* Registered for Diploma of Advanced Dietetic Practice, Masters module(s), or equivalent experience as demonstrated through portfolio.
* HPC registration
* Evidence of Audits or research projects undertaken.
* BDA membership
* Attendance at BDA accredited course in clinical specialist area
Other Criteria
* Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post. This includes clearance on blood borne viruses In compliance with Trust Policy.
